Cafe Lupe Bed & Breakfast

Someone is getting good at surprises....

Last May 6th I turned 27 wooohooo. And since I didn't have to work on cinco de mayo someone came up with a surprise staycation for my birthday.

Antipolo is known for many things; overlooking restaurants, churches, pools and...... B&Bs.

I really can't give much details about the place because everything was prepared by him but I can share our experience.

We arrived at around 3pm. This place is literally like 10 minutes away from our house.

                                                                       the hotel building

 the dining area

The whole complex has many accommodations from spas to karaoke bars all in separate buildings.

 The lobby

 outside lounge

Mr. Surprise obviously planned this "ahead of time" and this was the only room available with two single beds lol.
This is the usual setup of the room he got

 and for special request.... haha

I actually enjoyed just relaxing and watching TV while he was working

I've always wanted this kind of shower

a few shots before leaving

Cafe Lupe at night

I thought the wide screen viewing in the middle was superb

Since he had to work that night on his lappy we bought dinner and stayed in our room. And my birthday isn't complete without pizza. It's a must!
We had breakfast at cafe Lupe's restaurant on the balcony

Over looking view of Antipolo

with a perfect cup of coffee

Andio and I go to so many places each weekend but we've never stayed somewhere over night and I wanted so badly to stay out of town for my birthday but due to work we couldn't schedule that. The staycation surprise though was perfect! Simple and solemn. Effort is the best gift you can give and you got an A+ this time (knowing you planned everything just 1 day before). I couldn't have asked for more. Much love for you.

Dinner Date at Dillingers 1903 Steak and Brew

May is one of my favorite months of the year, mostly because its days and weeks of birthday celebrations for me! Yehey and also lots of eating involved.

My best friend since high school lives in New Zealand but never forgets me and sent me the sweetest gift. A fully paid date night at Dillingers 1903 Steak and Brew.

I remember visiting this place sometime before with my former boss but never really got to taste the food as it was just alcohol then.

It's located at the end of greenbelt three so you can't really see it unless you actually look for it. Makati is kinda out of our comfort zone since we live in Antipolo so these kinds of trips are always planned. The place is really cozy and the good part is there's a separate room for drinkers/ smoker and for those who just want to dine.

We went at like 5pm though after church so there were barely any people. I love trying new restaurants especially with Andio. Eating is like one of our main bonding activities.

And the orders begin...

It was just the two of us and we seriously couldn't even finished what we ordered. There servings are really big and we weren't disappointed.

Nacho Grande
More like humongous nachos. This dish we be good for like 5 people.

The Ultimate Dillinger's Burger
7 Oz of pure beef topped with mozzarella bacon mushrooms and more served with a bunch of fries on the side.

 Veal Roulade

We had to take the rest for take out and had no space in our tummies for dessert.

Overall the food was great. Their prices aren't so bad for their big servings. They have a long list of alcoholic beverages too.

For two people php 800-1000

Taco Vengo!

HAPPY CINCO DE MAYO!!!

I love Mexican food and whenever I discover a new place, we just have to try it!

Taco Vengo has three branches; Makati, Kapitolyo and soon to open at MegaMall.

                                                  16 United St., Kapitolyo, Pasig

It's a small joint but I can't underestimate it for their food. So far, I would rate this my second favorite place for burritos in Manila.

Their menu is a bit pricier than some Mexican restaurants but still affordable and it is about the quality right?

We got there at lunch time so the place was still packed. I didn't even realize it was cinco de mayo at the time but eh Filipinos don't celebrate it anyway.

6 layer dip nachos  Php160

Pork Cheek Confit Burrito Php 260

The burritos are big enough to share and well we always share burritos

Nomnomnom

Cheers!

Overall, I give Taco Vengo 4 stars. We'll definitely be back for more.

Hasta Luego!
